The Fireflies Bicycle Ride for Leuka will take place for the 7th year,
running from the 12th to the 20th of June and riding into the Cannes
Lions International Advertising Festival.
About the Ride
If you were in Cannes last year, you may have noticed a peloton of cyclists clad in shiny red tops and black lycra,
sweeping down the Croisette, late Thursday afternoon.
These cyclists are known as the Fireflies riders and each year they traverse 1000 km
across the French Alps from Evian to Cannes raising money for Leuka.

About Leuka
The charity Leuka 2000 was founded in 1982 by Lester Cazin, a leukaemia
patient, in order to facilitate raising money to support clinical
activity and research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia specifically
at the Hammersmith Hospital in London.
The rewards gained from this research benefit everyone. It is believed
that Leukaemia is the model of all cancers. Achieving a greater understanding
of this disease will help in the fight against all forms of cancer.
Hammersmith Hospital has been at the forefront of leukaemia treatment
for the past thirty years. It has established an international reputation
for its levels of excellence and research. The original unit, founded
in 1969 was the first centre dedicated to the treatment of leukaemia
in adults and also the first to offer bone marrow transplants. The
hospital carries out more transplants for chronic myeloid leukaemia
than any other centre in the country.

Early morning hours on the departure day from the shores of Lake Geneva. 42 Excited Fireflies are about to set off on a 8-day stage, 1000km journey through the French Alps with only one destination in mind: Cannes!
Your donations are important to us. There are different ways to make
one. You can either fill out a form and send it out with a cheque,
or you can make a donation to Leuka online.
This year we are hoping to raise a minimum of £100,000 and whilst
we recognise individual donations as given above integral to this
cause, we also consider corporate sponsorships as key to achieving
this goal. Unprecedented interest in the Fireflies offers sponsors
an exciting platform for promotions and branding.
