Hey guys, its the ad veteran here. (I notice Campaign never refers to women, like dear Sandy Watson, in such an ageist manner.) Anyway. I am not using my fine stealth craft on the ride (Black Colnago with Black Rolf wheels, black carbon post, black bars, black tape, all black tyres, black 10 speed Ergos). No I am going veteran-ish. My Hetchins millenium is my weapon of choice. One of 20 frames built to celebrate 2000 it has the most ornate lugs they ever made (lining them was a weeks work) and it has their famous and unique 'Curly, rear stays as featured on the 50's track bike shown here. It is a hybrid of Campag's greatest hits. Campag saddle, Modern Racing T triple changer with Ergo Changers, but with a 7speed bock on Campag large flange Hubs, for those who have only ever seen them in photographs. It's a bit on the heavy side, but probably lighter than the bike Coppi used on that first climb back in 1952.  Posted by joe marcantonio on . |
